The invention of digital photography was revolutionary, enabling changes that seemed previously unimaginable, including faster, easier, and more spontaneous images, unprecedented storage capacities, and powerful post-processing tools. As one of the medium’s first adopters, photographer Lucien Samaha (@luciensamaha_onfilm) knew digital photography since its birth, and was able to realize its immense potential when most analog photographers and the marketplace regarded it with doubt and suspicion. From the #PWArchives: Lucien Samaha: A History of Digital Photography 📷💾 This 2019 exhibition brought together three decades of Samaha's work, during a time period corresponding with the rise of digital photography. Featuring among the earliest examples of digital photography, the show pulled from Samaha's archives of over a million photographs, alongside vitrines of ephemera and every camera Samaha has used, demonstrating the artist's pioneering experiments and reflecting this radical new era of image-making.
