Today my grandpa Andi moved into his forever resting place under a beautiful oak tree near his home town. Although I couldn’t attend, I will forever carry him with me. Everything I know about unapologetically being myself, the value of holding on to childlike wonder and aesthetic design choices, I know from him. I will miss him like crazy but I know that if he were here, he’d make a hilariously morbid joke and cheer me right back up. He wouldn’t want me writing some sappy shit. He’d want me to tell everybody about that time he dove head first from a 20m cliff into the ocean. This man really knew how to fucking LIVE. And I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to make him proud. Fuck you, Alzheimer’s. I love you, Opa.
