Pumpkin Pie or Apple Pie Which one would you pick? I hope this is the only decision making you have to make this Thanksgiving. I like both, but having pumpkin on Thanksgiving day is a must for me! I did a side by side comparison and this Apple Pie Mai Tai really tastes like an apple pie! Now you can have this mai tai in one hand and a pumpkin pie in the other without having to choose. 😁 Cheers to your Friday & weekend! Apple Pie Mai Tai (recipe from Make and Drink) 🍎3 drops of saline solution (1:4 salt:water) 🍎.25 oz cinnamon syrup 🍎.25 oz Allspice Dram (St Elizabeth) 🍎.50 oz homemade spiced apple syrup* 🍎.50 oz orgeat (recipe calls for pecan orgeat but I have a nut allergy 😳) 🍎.75 oz fresh lime juice 🍎1 oz Apple Brandy (Laird’s Straight Applejack86) 🍎1 oz Demerara Rum (Pusser’s Rum) Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a shaker | add ice and shake vigorously until well-chilled | strain into a glass with crushed or pebbled ice | garnish with a mint bouquet, apple slice, and cinnamon stick. *Spiced apple pie syrup: 🍎1 large red apple diced 🍎1 cup water 🍎1 cup sugar (I used 1/2 cup, like it less sweet) 🍎1 stick cinnamon 🍎2 whole cloves Instructions: Place all ingredients except sugar in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil | lower heat and simmer for 15 minutes stirring occasionally | tip: don’t stir too much or press down on the apples or the syrup will become cloudy | use a fine-mesh strainer and strain the liquid into a measuring cup | discard the solids | pour the liquid back into the saucepan over medium heat | stir in the sugar until dissolved but don’t boil | remove from heat | let cool then store in an airtight, food-safe container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. #jillsbarcreations #fallcocktails #seasonalsips #applecocktail #thanksgiving #lairdsapplejack #cocktailtime #craftcocktails #autumnvibes #applepie #homebartender #applepiemaitai
