The largest city in western Ukraine has become a focal point for people fleeing attacks further east - from Kyiv, Kharkiv and other cities. Tens of thousands want to continue to Poland or Hungary or Romania. Hundreds of exhausted, freezing people crowd into Lviv train station. They walk across the tracks, children scream. Nervous security forces are pushing back individuals. Helpers distribute tea and sandwiches. Most wait all day for a train to the border, many in vain.
