Perception (2022) . . . A collection of hand constructed shoes designed to explore the intimacy and tactility of clothes. I wanted to emulate the power of touch that we experience in our lives through my shoes, an accessory that the user chooses to place on their body. Depending on who it’s from, intimate touch can make us feel comfort, excitement, or vulnerability. By placing this responsibility into a shoe, it allows the wearer to gain control of how that touch makes them feel. Above all, this collection highlighting hands represents the connectedness of humanity, how we are always touching and impacting one another. I hope my shoes serve as a reminder of our autonomy within that community, that we can be intimate or vulnerable, and do it on our own terms. 📸: @rrrhia
