It was an absolute delight to interview Rory, one half of the creative duo ‘OK-RM.’ I first encountered @okrm_london through the stunning visuals/branding they crafted for Taiga Takahashi’s brand, T.T. The work was soft and graceful, yet carried a distinct strength—a quality Rory refers to as ‘tension.’ It was unlike anything I had seen in Kyoto before, yet somehow, it felt deeply rooted in the essence of the city. OK-RM faced two unexpected challenges when working with Taiga, who was establishing his brand in Kyoto: creating the entire brand identity through Zoom during the pandemic and taking on the weighty responsibility of continuing Taiga Takahashi’s legacy after his sudden passing in April 2022 at just 27 years old. We spoke with Rory about their collaboration with Taiga, their impressions of Kyoto, and how they are preserving Taiga’s vision and legacy. In a fast-paced world like fashion and entertainment, it’s sometimes challenging to maintain creativity, intention, and integrity. Yet OK-RM always shows us how. Every time I sit down with them, I feel both inspired and challenged in how I think. With @stactile.co.ltd for @smerge.kyoto @okrm_london
