When they say take space — you TAKE SPACE! I finally made it to @ultabeauty to check out @goodlight.world on the TOP SHELF! I’ve healed from covid but it was a bummer missing our National launch. This is a huge deal to not only be in Ulta, the biggest beauty retailer, but to be on top shelves everywhere. Annnnd we’re the retailer’s first (FIRST!!) gender-inclusive beauty brand. Younger me could never ever have imagined this moment but when you dream big, your ancestors answer. As a Korean American who’s been overlooked all my life, who’s been told to hide in the shadows, not draw attention, to not take space... this is me reclaiming ALL THE SPACE. FOR ALL OF US! This moment still hasn’t hit but I hope you all are proud of yourselves. Proud to WALK into the light and be celebrated for who you are, your authenticity, your truth. If anything, I am proud of you and stand with you. This moment is for all the misfits, the BIPOC folx who’ve been passed, the queer kids who found safety at beauty counters everywhere. When you see good light, know you have a community that sees you for everything you are. And we honor you!
