My full name is Delphine Diaw Diallo. ‘Diaw’ was the name of my Senegalese, Fulani grandmother, Diaw Gueye. She was a great matriarch and provided food and shelter for many children in her community in Saint Louis du Senegal. I recently had ‘this call’ of coming back to Senegal to create the woman’s armor and felt deeply my purpose to awaken the archetype of the female warrior. “I had few references for women’s armor, and all of them were inspired by western mythology. I was determined to create an armor that I’d never seen before, based on my spiritual journey and ancestors from the Fulani Tribe. The woman’s armor is an invitation to awaken the hero within, to make the challenging journey of self-leadership and consciousness.
