🙏🏼baraye(for) AZADI (Freedom)🕊️ It has been 40 days of heart agonizing, aching and breaking news. It has been 40 days since #MahsaAmini was murdered, and created a protest that has since led to a REVOLUTION. Although I have never been to Iran, I have always felt more Persian than I am American. Yet for 43 yrs the country and its people has been thought of and connotated with the Islamic Regime that took over. But they are so much more, incredibly innovative, creative, beautiful and as the world has seen: BRAVE! I couldnt be more proud to be Persian, to feel this fearless bravery in my blood 🩸🙌 40+ years later, with the majority of their population as youth and women - they are standing up to say ENOUGH is ENOUGH. The brutality is hard to fathom, from gasing the wisest students of Sharif Uni, to lighting on fire where all the creative/journalists are being held at Evin Prison, to the endless rapes onto the girls protesting (see Armita Abbasi) A movement that has been truly by the people, for the people and from the people. Thank you to @vomo.me @chrispan @meganpormer & @chloepourmorady for creating this past event that wasnt just for Iranians, but others who may not understand Farsi to truly innerstand what is taking place, this movement is asking for each and everyone to share about it.
