Happy Friday everyone! Wanted to share some content from my first experiment with my @nutrisenseio app for monitoring my blood glucose! What I really like about the app is that it gives you a daily glucose score based on your peak, your average, your adaptability, & your variability throughout the day. For this experiment, I measured my glucose right before I went to go work out and it was already on the lower side at 75 so I knew I needed to eat as soon as I got home. Following a one hour light yoga exercise, it had dropped slightly to 70. The impact of exercise on glucose levels can be substantial from person to person! What happens when you exercise is that the body moves glucose from the blood and into your muscle cells to be used as energy for your work out. This in turn reduces your blood sugar! So if you are a diabetic, including regular exercise into your diabetes plan is so important and in fact for those with diabetes at exercise regularly, they typically have better blood sugar levels and overall A1c levels. If you are interested in working with a Dietitian to help manage your blood sugar and your diabetes, had to the link in my bio to schedule FREE 45 minute consultation where you can find out more about how we can work one on one! #bloodsugarmanagement #bloodglucose #continuousglucosemonitor #diabeteseducation #diabeteseducator
