I’m honored to present work in this wonderful exhibition with @regularnormalnyc curated by @delvalle_lago ❤️‍🔥 muchas gracias! @digitaldannybaez "This is Not Surrealism," a delicately curated group show which decodes Neo-surrealism in current times. This exhibition takes its name from René Magritte's 1929's painting, "The Treachery of Images," where he painted an image of a pipe and states that it's not a pipe, challenging the viewer to find meaning in a contradictory yet profoundly literal statement. We encouraged 30 artists to create new work to help further our understanding of this ongoing movement. Existential themes such as consumerism, the damage done to nature, using humor as a coping mechanism, and the power of storytelling as a tool for healing are all present in this exhibition. "This Is not Surrealism" will open on Thursday, August 4th, from 6-8 pm at Dinner Gallery @dinner_gallery at 242 W 22nd Street. Music by @diegohauz Writing by @ldjnegron
