French artist Claire Tabouret (second image with musician/carpenter husband Nathan Thelen and baby Mattea) has turned her LA home into her latest and largest canvas. The ceiling is covered in classic tarot card imagery, which required giant scaffolding to hoist the painter up 16 feet - “that was the first thing we did while the house was still empty,” says @clairetabouret. “It gives a sense of playfulness and freedom to the house.” The color play continues throughout, with many rooms coated in various @farrowandball shades chosen by the couple to “tell a story,” says the painter. “We think of it as an artwork that’ll never really be finished,” says Tabouret of the house. Acknowledging the partially painted fireplace (image two) she says “Littke by little I will finish painting it so that there is no longer any white. Maybe that is what will happen to the whole house over time. I’m sure in two years it’ll be more and more alive.” Full story in December AD and via link in bio. 📷 @jeanfrancoisjaussaud text @_h_mart_ 🎨
