🚨Job Alert🚨 Sky High Farm is hiring a Livestock Manager! The Livestock Manager oversees the planning and daily needs of the livestock program. They will work alongside the Agricultural Director to develop a year-round production plan and manage animal welfare and livestock personnel. This position involves supervision and mentorship of up to two livestock Fellows, who are beginning farmers engaged in an intensive educational experience focused on livestock care and production. We’re looking for someone who is committed to Sky High’s mission, dedicated to ecologically responsible farming practices, organized and able to maintain daily animal welfare, pasture rotation, and feed consumption records, as well as ready to complete physical outdoor work (in all conditions) including barn maintenance, cleaning, the movement of feed, and tasks directly related to livestock management. Applicants will preferably have: ☁️ Experience in handling and treating livestock, including cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry ☁️ Experience in animal husbandry ☁️ Experience in supervising and mentoring staff ☁️ Equipment operation experience, including tractors and trailers ☁️ A license to operate a motor vehicle and experience driving pick-up trucks ☁️The ability to lift heavy items (e.g. up to and possibly over 50 lbs) ☁️Patience to teach and mentor seasonal fellows of varying skill levels and experience 🐓🐖🐑🐄 If this position sounds right for you, visit the link in our bio, or the tab on our website titled JOBS to learn more and apply.
