My poor phone is begging me to clear some space. But I thought I'd share some of it with the best fans I've ever experienced, before I archive it. So, here's a Sunday treat for my #FirstKillers! These sketches are from the original concept for the opening credits/main titles of the show. They were drawn by one of my frequent collaborators, illustrator #IanGroff. I wanted them to be simple, to contrast with the visual beauty of the show. Originally, I was going to tell a lot more story with the panels in the opening credits, but I decided I didn't need all of them to do so. Plus, I wanted to include the opening photos of SC and Imani and treat them to make them look like drawings, as well. These days we don't see extended main titles very often. We get 5-10 second openings, showcasing the title of the show, and then get right into the episode. But since I was a kid, I have always loved main tites, especially ones you can sing along with. So, I was very happy when @Netflix approved my concept, and allowed me to create a full 1-minute opening!!!🥂 Then, I found @stephaniemabey's "The Zombie Song," on a late night, deep dive on Spotify, and I knew I had the right vibe.💃🏾 "If I were a zombie, I'd never eat your brain. I'd just want your heart..." is pretty much a perfect lyrical expression of soul deep, forever love, in my humble opinion!!!😍😍 I added some commentary to the clip, just because...
