love life and life will love you back 💙🐬✨ Note: NOAA prohibits swimming with, approaching, or remaining within 50 yards of a Hawaiian spinner dolphin Hawaiian spinner dolphins feed offshore at night and return to the coast during the day to rest. They use the shallow, sandy seafloor as a defense to predators. Throughout the day, they experience different levels of rest; the most critical being sunrise (returning from the hunt) and evening (final "deep rest" before hunting again). If their rest is interrupted, it can cause weakness to the individuals. Stress is the major issue, brought on by overstimulation. DO NOT chase after them We were so fortunate to have this pod approach us this morning during our dive. We never chased them and calmly floated by the surface as they swam by. I encourage people to witness wildlife first hand, to better understand why we need to protect them and their habitats. It is also important to educate others on the importance of respecting the boundaries wildlife has. @connerhumann
