I never thought I’d be involved in a scooter accident, nor does anyone I guess until it happens. No matter how safe you drive, or how much experience you have sometimes things just straight up go wrong with no time react. In my case i was heading from South to North Bali with @jamietkalcevic and @sara_tai_ sight seeing and enjoying the ride through the beautiful scenic roads. As we were close to our accommodation It got dark sooner then expected leaving us to ride about 20 minutes in the night to get there. I was in front and before I could react a huge pothole appeared right in front of the bike and i hit it flying about 3 meters off the bike and landing on my wrist and shoulder and slide to a stop on my back on a rough gravel road. It all happened so darn quick. My helmet was broken on the right side and thankfully i was wearing one and it was on properly otherwise I doubt I’d be able tell this story myself. Massive thank you to the incredible locals that took me too the hospitality and helped aid me after the crash. Massive thanks to @sara_tai_ & @jamietkalcevic for their quick thinking and giving be all the aid and help I needed. Its 2 weeks after the accident now and I’ve had surgery and should make a full recovery back in Melbourne. Looking back on the crash im thankful that i only broke my wrist and my collar bone considering the nature of what happened. Im very lucky. No matter how good or confident you are at riding scooters/ motorcycles in Asian countries.
