Selected interior at Online Auction šŸ•°ļøā  The final Selected auction of the year features European home interior items representing over a hundred years of craftsmanship – from the 18th century to the early 20th century. Let yourself be inspired by the auction’s Danish Baroque, Rococo and Gustavian furniture as well as gilt bronzes, beautiful rugs and ornamental mirrors. Among other things, we have no fewer than five beautiful Rococo mirrors up for auction. They are of different designs, but all have the characteristic Rococo ornamentation with rocailles and their curved, irregular and asymmetrical lines as well as flowers and foliage. Rococo is a European style that came to Denmark in 1730 only to disappear again a few decades later in 1760. The style originated in France, and the name derives from the French word ā€œrocailleā€, which describes the shell-covered rock work found on fountains and in man-made grottoes. The style was a continuation of and reaction to the Baroque period, and it is often described as graceful and oriental in its expression. The auction runs until Monday 19 December at 6pm.
