The most important thing I’ve learned in my years of experience with mental health struggles and mental illness is that recovery is possible. It’s that things get better. No, they won’t be perfect and there isn’t some one size fits all solution or a real cure for that matter, but you can experience good after the bad. You can see the light after darkness and you can recover enough to get yourself out of a bad place and then help others do the same. You can be resilient and bounce back from anything you go through as long as you choose to grow through it as well. In fact, you’re probably more resilient than you think. Resilience is the greatest gift one could have and it’s worth holding onto. ⁣ ⁣ If you’re in a dark place right now, know it won’t last. I know you’ll get out of it. I know the pain will subside and you will heal. You will see the light again if you just stick around long enough. So please stay and please keep going. There are better days ahead and you’re going to want to be here to see that. Trust me, it’s a really nice feeling when you realize how much you’ve overcome and things come full circle and you start to realize why you went through what you did and how much stronger it’s made you and how much it’s taught you. That moment will happen for each and every one of you. There will be dark days and bad moments, but there will also be sunny days and good moments. ⁣ ⁣ Recovery is not easy, it is not straightforward, it doesn’t happen in a straight line. But it does happen. Sometimes it’s messy, but it occurs nonetheless. You can recover. You can heal. And I wish that for you more than anything because you deserve it. ⁣ ⁣ I know it’s cliché but it gets better. And even if it doesn’t, you get better. Take care, my friends. #BellLetsTalk
