New music today!!! Thrilled to share a new solo version of @son_lux “Come Recover.” This is a live improvised vocal and piano performance on an instrument I designed using the absolutely incredible #pianoteq software (which is audio modeling, not sampling!). Pianoteq has enabled me to realize a dream of unshackling the piano from traditional Western tuning systems. And with the ability to alter the physical characteristics of the instrument virtually, a whole world of sonic potential opens up. It’s different from “preparing” a piano, but like prepared piano, it offers a way to explore a familiar instrument to discover new sounds.
