#Repost @captured_by_thea with @appreposteasy ⁣ ... ⁣ ✨8 Month post explant surgery update (aka removing my toxic breast implants) The scars are now fading but the journey is still fresh. Seeing my pre surgery pics clearly I looked sick but that was my ‘normal.’ So I can’t say I really knew different considering I had my implants since age 17, which symptoms just got worse over time. With the scar capsules surrounding the ruptured silicone implants, my body spent a lot of time fighting itself. Breast Implant Illness causes autoimmune and inflammatory responses in your body, I had 30+ symptoms. It’s a good thing to be aware of if you have implants or someone you know. Especially since my story is not uncommon being a part of the womens 170,000+ member Facebook group Breast Implant Illness by Nicole. I wondered many days how I even woke up because I felt like my body was failing me, yet I was told I was ‘normal’.....how could normal possibly feel like that? It was even hard to take in air with my decreased lung capacity from having the implants push in my rib cage (I still have an indent) and the scar capsules were adhered to my ribs which had to be scraped off, muscles repaired, HUGE surgery. Removing the scar capsules is necessary to get better from this. It’s not just simply taking out your implants like many think. After explant surgery....8 months later, I can’t think of one symptom that is remaining, how crazy is that? My health is what I now have back and I’ll be forever thankful for that!!! I have a few more scars, a completely flat chest, and may not fit into the societal standard of beauty, do I care? No. The story is a big one so feel free to comment with any Q’s.
