There’s nothing quite like sharing eye contact with an animal much larger than yourself. It’s a very unique feeling and something that stays with you for life. You might assume an interaction such as this one is quite rare. In fact, this was just one of hundreds of close passes by the many minke whales that visit the Ribbon Reefs between June and July.
