Meet #OutfestScreenLab Fellow James Acker (@james_um_acker)! ⁠ ⁠ James (he/him) grew up in New Jersey, and he’s based his entire personality off that fact. With the same script that made a Outfest Screenwriting Lab Fellow, he won the 2020 Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Nicholl Fellowship. When he’s not writing, James lives in Los Angeles with his wonderfully supportive partner and his two recurring stress dreams.⁠ ⁠ His feature script SADBOI tells the story of an emotionally-stunted high schooler who must revisit old friends and repair burnt bridges all in the name of finding a place to sleep after being kicked out of his home.⁠
