Balut is made from fertilized duck eggs that are either steamed or boiled. It’s considered a delicacy in many parts of Asia and I can see why. My favorite part is the juice inside- it tastes like a decadent duck broth and if you’ve been following me for a long time you already know duck is my favorite. I was really surprised how soft and juicy the inside was because duck eggs in my experience have much denser proteins (meaning the whites of the egg can get a little bit chewy.
