Just a lil poem with a lil pic I took, have a nice weekend folks :)
My hands tremble, my heart flutters
Butterflies in the open field
Singing songs through their wings
I used to not be able to sleep
Now I toss and turn
Excited for what tomorrow brings
A decent trade but I’m still tired
Pulling over on the farmers field
To watch the birds make shapes in the sky
Fifty old souls in this little mountain town
With frozen tears in their eyes
Cleaning my muddy shoes in a big puddle
The same puddle that the stray dog drinks from
And that takes the clouds and the mountains
And displays them on the road for you
To see what home looks like upside down
The double rainbow through the old barn window
Her twin is fading behind
But she’s still as vibrant as ever
I found her through the tall grass
And chased her through the mud
She must’ve known this day was my last
Hanging my wet clothes on the balcony
It smells of rainfall, burning pines, and mossy stones
So when I’m in my small city bedroom
and I’m feeling alone
I can dig my nose in my sweater
And be taken back home
