SAVE FOR BABY TRAVEL TIPS: Did you know that kids under 2 can fly for free? When I learned this I realized that this is our chance to travel as much as we can with Bella for the lowest price possible! Bella has been to 7 countries and on 16 flights so far and she is only 1.5! Here are things that I’ve learned about baby travel: MY TRAVEL TIPS: 1. Bassinet seat: Some airlines have a bassinet attachment that they can put in front of your seat for the baby to sleep in (it’s free). If you have an overnight flight try to book the seats at the front of the plane because you may be able to get the much coveted bassinet attachment. These are normally on flights that are longer than 6 hours and are first come first serve so you need to ask for them at the gate. Get there early for this because they normally only have a few to give out! 2. Ear pain: To alleviate ear pain during take offs I’ve found that having the baby suck on a pacifier or a bottle of milk helps them naturally pop their ears. 3. Toys: Bring little toys to trade out throughout the flight so that when your kid gets bored with one you can present them with a new one. Don’t show them everything at once because then the element of surprise is gone! 4. Flight times: Try to plan the flight around a time that your baby is normally sleeping and you’ll both have a much better time. 5. Blackout fabric: I also recommend bringing a scarf or fabric of some type that can blackout light because the plane is often lit up and this can confuse the baby to think it isn’t time to sleep. 6. Food: Bring extra food because you don’t want to run out in the sky. If you do, you’ll have to feed them plane food (which even full grown adults don’t normally want to eat). 7. Free items: Did you know that a stroller, car seat, and crib are all free? You should never pay extra for these. 8. Breast milk: This is allowed to go through TSA and they will not take it from you even though it is a liquid. Have you ever traveled with a baby? If so where?
