Sooooo Jake and I should be in Hawaii for our 8th FREE trip, being wined and dined with our friends .... But we aren’t. Sometimes you have to make hard decisions and just go with your gut, and even though I’m having MAJOR FOMO, that’s what we did. And honestly, I held out hope until the last couple days that we would end up going.... But I just never felt peace with going and it just didn’t work out. Hendrix and I were away from Jake Yancey and Hudson for 6 months (Feb-July) filming “A Friend Of The Family” ... and while it’s incredible to see your child succeeding at something that she loves and that less than 1% of the population will ever do it’s also extremely stressful, isolating and hard on a family unit. So with that said, I feel like the place I’m needed most rn is home. Jake is swamped with work for Disaster Masters, Hudson is in high school and can’t miss school to go with us to Hawaii (plus he’s in pre-season basketball and is on the golf team) and Hendrix is doing press, enjoying school and friends, and prepping (media training and collaborating with a NY stylist this week) for the premiere of her breakout role in just a few short weeks. Not to mention we ALL 4 will be leaving for New York in just a couple days to celebrate Hendrix at her RED CARPET PREMIERE and AFTER PARTY. And even though a stylist is handling Hendrix I still have to coordinate outfits for me, jake and hud. 😝😵‍💫 Have you ever tried to dress a 6’10” man with a size 17 shoe for a red carpet? 🤣 So as I sit here on my muggy, mosquito-attacking, 100 degree front porch .... I’m dreaming of relaxing on the beaches of Kona with my dearest friends .... But I know I’m right where I need to be. Ugh. Adulting is overrated. **and YES I’m holding a gigantic feather 🤣🤣 this picture was taken the last week of production (in LA) and HK was determined to take this feather home that she found on the beach.
