EPISODE 2: Artist, designer, and craftsperson @tanyaaguiniga was born in San Diego, California, and raised in Tijuana, Mexico. As a binational citizen who crossed the border daily for school, her work speaks of her divided identity and aspires to tell the larger and often invisible stories of the transnational community. Aguiñiga often works with textiles, drawing upon Mesoamerican weaving and traditional forms to create sculptures, installations, performances, and community-based art projects.
