Please note that this statement isn’t out to attack parents (or caregivers) or undermine the extraordinarily difficult task of raising a being. Everyone is human, and most are doing the best they can.⁣ ⁣ But even parents were once someone’s child. So despite which role you’re currently in, we can all understand the internal friction of loving or desiring closeness with a caretaker – yet holding grief, anger, and sadness for how they’ve let us down.⁣ ⁣ The very nature of the parent and adult-child dynamic sheds light on the duality of human nature. Now that we’re older, we understand clearly in what ways they missed the mark. Still, we can hold high regard for the maturity, responsibility, and sacrifice they endured on our behalf and innately love and attach to them.⁣ ⁣ Forgiveness and awareness are primary antidotes to moving through residual childhood trauma linked to a caregiver. But there are times when the pain and anger are so prevalent that your inner child cannot help but rage, blame, run, or even completely shut out your parents.⁣ ⁣ And though it’s not the same as having mum or dad lovingly rewrite their history, take it all back, and patch up your emotional wounds – you can care for the little one within and re-parent yourself through deep self-love and care.⁣ ⁣ Just remember, everyone operates from their level of consciousness. And the more aware and awake we become, we see how others treat us as simply a reflection of their emotional and spiritual awareness. The more aware you become, the easier it gets to stand outside the narrative your mind has woven throughout a lifetime and observe it without judgment or blame.⁣ ⁣ Zoom out far enough, and you will see that your parents were once children with unmet needs and were never presented with the tools to heal. But in a space where inner child work, forgiveness, and consciousness are carefully discussed, you have a chance to heal for them, you and the generations to come.⁣ ⁣ You owe nothing to no one. But you deserve to unburden yourself of childhood, generational, and ancestral trauma so that you may heal how you connect with others, with your parents, children, and yourself.⁣ ⁣ #VexKing
