Every summer usually once camp ends, we take a family trip to a drivable location. We’ve traveled to Ogunquit, Cape Cod, the Hamptons, Fire Island, Jersey Shore, Catskills and this year we checked Hershey/Lancaster off the list. Like most things with my family, it is not fully planned or thought out ahead of time, but it is always PACKED with things to see, eat and do and filled with smiles, laughter, some whining, lots of snacks and core memory making!
I can’t ever pull these trips together without the help and tips from friends🙏🏻 Feel free to save and share this info for your future road trip!
Stayed @hersheylodge the room was large enough to fit the 5 of us comfortably, had a shuttle to and from the park and a small indoor water park.
Spent an afternoon at @hersheyschocolateworld where we saw a short interactive movie about Hershey’s candy and then made our own chocolate bars. You need to buy tickets ahead of time for both these activities.
Next was a non stop full day at @hersheypark There’s a lot to cover with the park (including the water park) that it could be its own post. Happy to answer any questions via DM.
Had dinner at the Chocolatier @hersheyparkeats which had chocolate or some type of sweet infused into each dish.
The next day, we spent a full 4-5 hours at @cherrycrestadventurefarm I was skeptical that it would keep all of us busy, but it was probably one of my favorite farms I’ve been to! There are so many old fashioned fun activities for every age, plenty of snacks, and extremely clean.
Stayed at @edenresort which is a perfect family resort in the Lancaster area. It has large rooms, some with little kitchens, big pool and splash area for small children. Lots of activities and a food & drink truck!
Took a horse and buggy ride via Abe’s Buggy Rides which has been operating since 1967. We learned about the history and current lives of the Amish community living in Lancaster.
Delicious breakfast at @rachelscreperie not too far from hotel
Last stop was @turkeyhillexperience where we explored an interactive museum and bought tickets for an ice cream design &tasting class!
