Today is the 20th memorial of Cynthia’s physical passing. However, her spirit never left. I’ve learned over the years to take pride in telling her story. It’s our honor to do so as those who outlive our elders. To not try and outrun or “get over” loss, but move into a different relationship with grief that lets us be storytellers and torchbearers and pass on the love and lessons we were given. Cynthia loved fiercely. She lived bravely. Her spirit will always inspire that in others. Cheers, ma!
