Scaring children, on purpose, is not funny. I said it. Our kids look to us for protection and support, and when we scare children for a laugh, we send them mixed signals. ✨ “Will I be supported when things feel different?” ✨ “Why do they laugh when I’m scared?” ✨ “Am I safe around them?” Instead, I want children to feel safe and respected. There are a bunch of ways we can model respect. We often call children “tiny humans” because it’s important to remember that they are, in fact, humans.
