It started with me singing the Frozen Finale in my closet... ***** I got a little sad... my body instinctively wanted to do the blocking, the choreography... it knew exactly when to step on the turntable... but here I was by myself trying to get a clean take of the soprano part - alone. I recorded my part and sent it off... ******** A week later we got to the theatre and it was so great to see everyone-to meet new Disney family-and as we sat in the theatre looking at the stage, I felt a little sad again; I’ve not been able to see any live theatre myself for 8 months. ******* Then we started staging and collaborating together... “what if I run over to you here...” “yes cool-hey-how are your kids doing with homeschool,” “Ben’s trapped in the elevator😂uh-oh there’s a big delay... elevator won’t open on the musical cue we need... “ (Crew steps in and rigs it so all the doors will open the minute we release the button!) Amazing 🙌🏼 ********* The lyrics took on new meaning “We’re never going back; the past is in the past...” “The fear and cold are gone-Here we stand, in the light of day, let our true love grow... “ ********* I wasn’t allowing all that has happened to us to filter in, to breathe new life, to hear new ways in... for new possibilities. ********** I know you all feel the same way... that’s why these things are so important to us ... it serves as a reminder that live theatre will be back.
