My brain is a little broken by all of this. I know it’s still early days and there is plenty of time for the backlash and disappointment from overhyping (woo!), but this is truly unexpected. We are used to our work being divisive. We like it when our work finds its passionate weirdo niche, but often end up pushing most other people away. We set out to make a deeply personal beautiful mess and it was never meant to be a perfect film (how could it be). And yet somehow so many of you are loving it and it’s making me question everything. (Like... did we sell out?) Obviously none of this would have been possible if we hadn’t collected the most passionate, talented people in the world to help us push the film beyond what even we thought we were capable of. Everyone from the cast, the producers, grips, make up team, the PA’s and beyond had to put 110% of themselves into this movie and it shows. (P.s.
