Earlier this month, we showed you the photos, but as we celebrate #NY1at30, we’re again looking back at the day then-Gov. Eliot Spitzer stepped down from this role.
On March 12, 2008, Spitzer announced his resignation following a prostitution scandal after only 14 months in office.
A New York Times article exposed Spitzer was “Client 9” of a prostitution ring known as Emperors Club VIP.
Spitzer was replaced by New York’s first Black governor, David Paterson.
