Portrait photography holds a special place in my heart... I’m new to it, but documenting emotion feels like something I’ve been doing my whole life. Capturing only split seconds of ones day, but there’s something about them that speak louder than anything else. My time in Honduras was spent with those less fortunate, people looking for an extra hand, working with the bare minimum but doing there best to survive with what they had. I’ve seen it before. I’ve seen this time and time again, the happiest people I’ve met have only what they need, and nothing more. So maybe... the key to happiness, the key to feeling content is acquiring less and in return experiencing more. When I can look at someone and think “wow, they have nothing” and they can look at themselves with a smile on their face and say “I have everything”, maybe I need to reflect on how I am choosing to live my day to day. Live with less and instead embrace the experience that is life. Happiness, true happiness isn’t materialistic remember that.
