💫Ziyehla's birth ♓️ 40 weeks & 4 days At 4:14 pm I had my first really strong contraction I had been sitting in my tub for a few hours trying calm my skin from itching & realized it was easier to check my cervix in the tub so I did when I finally reached it I realized I was about 70 percent effaced and 3 cm dilated. After checking once more I started to have super strong contractions. I told Dre to fill up the tub bc these were way different and stronger than the practice contractions I had been having for months. He joked with me and about it being a false alarm and I told him it definitely wasn’t. These contractions were serious. My mom had been in the bathroom with me talking for a few hours and we gathered some things from my room and headed downstairs to the birth tub in the pole room. I moved thru some super strong contractions and got in the tub as soon as it was partially filled. It felt good but really did nothing for the contractions. I got out to poop and did a little and noticed some alot of bloody show and text it to my doula and got back in and then back out again for another bathroom trip. It felt like I had to pee but it was her putting pressure on my urethra which she had been doing the last several months of pregnancy. My uterus was being pullled forward and it out constant pressure on my uretha and that feeling was overwhelming I tried to pee and couldn’t. The contractions were so strong it was overwhelming my mom did the butt giggle, I wiggled, twerked, bounced, did pulsating squats thru several contractions. During one of the contractions I was bouncing over the toilet and my water broke and a bunch of mucus plug fell into the toilet. I continued to bounce and move thru that one and a few more and I heard Alicia my friend/previous doula client who gave birth last year with me, became a doula, and so graciously agreed to attend my birth as her first birth.
