As a first Gen daughter, going to Capitol Hill to fight for the rights of healthcare workers just feels different. Today is a big day. I am joining 8 Awesome Humans in the fight to save healthcare. I’ve witnessed the harm healthcare can cause on its workers through my mother. Her journey into nursing was full of barriers & the demands of healthcare took a toll on her & I recognized this even as a young girl. I still entered this field because I was inspired by my mothers passion for nursing even through the harm. When I advocate for nurses, I am fighting for her as well. @wearfigs is using their platform & power to give us a seat at the table. We will be able to use our lived experiences to advocate for comprehensive legislation for healthcare workers that address four key pillars: ➡️ Mental Health ➡️ Workplace Safety ➡️Pay ➡️Training/Education This is the beginning of a long road towards change.
