I invite you to sit at my table as this is my offering. Food is the only thing that feels so absolute to me, so true in my heart. Watching this brings me to tears. What an incredibly euphoric feeling to sustain life in a creative, intimate and intentional way. Food is the purest form of love. It’s art, it’s a poem, a story. I’ve always wanted those big family meals, to chat about our day with genuine curiosity, to share memories and create new ones, to smile as I’m cutting my next bite. I always wanted that dynamic growing up but all it came down to was a yearning for a deep connections. And through food as a medium of expression I’m able to create that atmosphere for others as well as myself. What a blessing!! 🕊💕🕊 This Laotian inspired dinner was a reflection of where I’m currently at in my re-discovery of my SE Asian-American heritage. This menu highlighted commonly used Lao ingredients in fun, creative ways while paralleling the abundance of summer produce. I hope to learn more about traditional Lao cooking/practices as my journey continues. Held in front of @daughterny a special community haven in Crown Heights. Was so wonderful working with you all!
