Since @nico.boz and I started filming with @kai_shappley in 2016, we’ve watched her grow up into a courageous, inspiring, funny 11 year old. The last few weeks have been really tough — even traumatic — for Kai and her mom, @kimberly_shappley. The TX Governor issued an order for child services to investigate parents of trans kids who support their gender affirming care for ‘child abuse,’ leaving kids and parents terrified that they could be separated from one another.
