I couldn’t visit Japan without visiting my dear friends Nobu chan (@nobu.h.k) and Hitomi chan (@kishi_ke.h) at their beautiful ryokan @kishikejapan in Kamakura. There are many beautiful places to experience in Japan. And Kishi-ke is one of them. This beautiful husband and wife duo sought to create an intimate oasis based on traditional Japanese zen teachings for people to relax, live and enjoy in the present moment. It is located in Kamakura, a seaside town where zen teachings first originated in Japan. It was during the Kamakura Period, that many samurai families lived there and thus many temples were also built in Kamakura to provide a peaceful haven. Nobu Kishi, the owner, a descendant from the Kishi samurai family, decided on Kamakura for its history to open @kishikejapan in modern day Japan.
