4 years ago I picked up a camera the first time with the intention to learn everything I can about that craft and to eventually become a freelancer. Here are 3 of many things I’ve learned so far along the way which actually don’t only apply to photography. 1. Trying things and fail or realising it was not the right choice/path for you will be more gentle for your mind and soul long term. Not doing it but losing yourself in thoughts, asking „what if“ is mental hell. 2. Being human and nice is worth more than anything else and will always win. In the end nobody cares how skilled or famous you are if you are a jerk. 3. You will never be able to please everyone. There will always be people who want you to fail. People who have a negative image of you without knowing you. People who talk bad behind your back. And this is totally fine. The earlier you learn to accept this, the easier it will be in the future. Surround yourself with people you admire and who inspire you to keep going, whatever you do. What are thing you‘ve learned since you decided to pursue doing what you love?
