🎉You did it!🎉 Last week the government announced that sales of peat to amateur gardeners in England will be banned by 2024 - after over 11,500 of you pledged to stop using it in 2021 💙 👉 Peatlands are sometimes known as the UK's rainforests, as the waterlogged soils store huge amounts of carbon, far more than our woodlands. They are also home to a wealth of wildlife. 👉 The ban applies to peat in products for everyday gardeners, which accounts for 70% of the peat sold in the UK.
