Please join us at White Columns on September 29 for a conversation celebrating Mary Heilmann’s "The All Night Movie." The discussion will feature Heilmann, writer/curator Randy Kennedy, and the book’s original designer Mark Magill.
Doors will open at 6:30 PM and attendance is on a first-come basis. The conversation will begin sharply at 7:00 PM and is free. White Columns is located at 91 Horatio Street (between West and Washington Street). Books will be on hand for purchase.
In June, Primary Information released a facsimile of Heilmann’s classic and long out-of-print "The All Night Movie," which the artist has described as “the story of my life, told in words, painted images and photographs.” Equal parts artist book, monograph, and memoir, the publication provides an intimate window into the artist’s life, work, and friendships.
Heilmann has a long history with White Columns and was an active member of the creative milieu that orbited around the organization in its early years, when it was known as 112 Greene Street. The social circle around 112 Greene Street, Food, and Chatham Square are featured in The All Night Movie through candid snapshots and writings by the artist.
