5 design mistakes that are beyond easy to fix! Remember when I mentioned “the friend who can go into a thrift store and put together the most chic outfit?” This is the same concept - it doesn’t cost a lot to make your home feel put together. It’s little tweaks (sizing and scale) that will really elevate it, and most of these switches don’t cost any money! Because let’s be honest: it doesn’t matter how expensive your furniture is—if you’re making these common design mistakes, your home will still end up looking a little “off”. Read through for simple fixes that will instantly elevate your space. Design Mistakes: 1️⃣ Hanging art too high: this is a biggie! You want the center of your art at about eye-level! 2️⃣ Using rugs that are too small: too small of rugs will make the space feel “off” - when in doubt, go bigger. 3️⃣ Painting every room the same color: don’t be afraid of color, there are soooo many options! I will send a link to my paint guide to you, just comment DESIGN! 4️⃣ Adding faux materials: please opt for natural materials whenever possible, it will make a HUGE different in your space. 5️⃣ Using all neutrals: instead, add in a little color, pattern, and texture.
