Saddened to hear of the passing of the legendary Bill Russell. My earliest memories of him were when he was coaching the Sonics. In my career, I was lucky enough to have met him a handful of times and they are all great memories. I once spent time at his home on a photo shoot where the 11-times NBA champion made us his legendary banana pudding. I remember his incredible laugh echoing over the fairways of Jefferson Park golf course when he and his group (usually a fivesome or sixsome) would be having the greatest time right in the middle of a public course in the center of the city. When he once came to a Seahawks practice, every single player and coach wanted a photo with him. Mr. Russell couldn’t have been a more gracious person and he was truly bigger than life. Rest in love, Champ!
