⁣How to get one of the Seven Wonders of the World all to yourself!⠀ ⠀ When we visited Machu Picchu, we thought like most beautiful places, we had to get there first thing in the morning to beat the crowds. We realized shortly everyone had the same idea as us and there were long lines at the gates waiting for them to open.⠀ ⠀ The best time to take pictures with no one in the background is actually right before they close at 5 o’clock! Based on the train schedules, most people arrive at Machu Picchu in the morning and leave in the afternoon to catch a train back to Cusco. This means the late afternoons at Machu Picchu are almost completely empty!⠀ ⠀ Because we stayed at the Sanctuary Lodge which is the only on-site hotel at Machu Picchu, we had the chance to go both in the early morning and late afternoon without worrying about transportation schedules. ⠀ ⠀ Machu Picchu Tip: There are strictly no tripods allowed here as well so make sure you travel with a friend or have your guide snap some pics of you! 📸⠀ ⠀ Follow @travelwith.dna for more travel tips and tricks!
