📝 A note on “purposeful marking”: Whenever I teach, I always make it a point to demonstrate not only full out “performance” wise but also a few “purposeful marks”. I use a good amount of musicality when I teach and I have found it super helpful to students to utilize purposeful marking while I’m pointing out what they need to relate it to in the music. It makes it a little easier to understand what I want them to hear and makes them feel less overwhelmed while trying to connect music w/movement ☺️ As students, do y’all think this method is helpful???
