Do you ever feel like life is moving by too fast? Like every time you turn around, you can hardly catch a glimpse of the years past? I think the madness of time is its extreme, inconsiderate ability to let you know it’s passing by. Time doesn’t slow down for anyone. Yet, we feel like we need to keep up with it — and so we rush. We become naturally impatient to reach the end — a promotion, a new job, more vacations, relationships, marriage, etc. — without delay.  This idea of growing up too quickly is a horrible one. It will only make you more dreadfully solemn and unenjoyable to be around — and unfortunately, it’s something almost all of us struggle with and are guilty of. We need to realize that speed is the enemy of depth, detail, loving relationships, rich experiences, and loving the life God has given you. I get it — we know there are decisions to make in life. But we don’t have to make them here and now. Trust in God and cross the bridge when you get there. It might feel like you’re growing up too quickly, but what if you’ve got more time than you need? The train of life won’t ever stop moving quickly. Will you be too anxious and worried about the speed of life that it drives you to miss all the good? Or will you joyfully embrace each moment along the way and find beauty at every stop?
