With so much respect for those that paved the way, we celebrate our final and much-revered Nigerian to be showcased at the V&A. In 1959, Shade Thomas-Fahm became the first Nigerian woman to acquire a professional qualification in fashion design. Throughout the 60's, she boldly utilised indigenous fabrics to create iconic styles that adorned many beyond the continent's borders. Thank you for being a trailblazer ma.
