There are a lot of myths and confusion around Clearing, and the idea of it might seem quite stressful, however the reality of clearing is no matter how long it takes you -if you get prepared ahead of time, and be flexible, you can still get a place at uni that’s right for you 🤝 Hear from one of our graduates on their own personal experiences of going through the Clearing process at Portsmouth. "On A Level results day I unfortunately didn’t receive the grades I was hoping for, so I didn’t get into the uni I wanted. At this point I was slightly anxious as I didn’t think I was going to be able to go to uni, however, after looking at the uni league tables I saw that Portsmouth uni was in the top 15 for sport science, so I thought I’d give them a ring through their clearing process. I remember the lady on the phone to be very reassuring, explaining that she will try her best to enrol me into their course. She said she would have to speak to the head of faculty and give me a call back. Within 10 minutes she called me back and said there was a space and they’d love me to accept the place. She gave me more information about Portsmouth university and sent me emails about the uni too. I’d defo recommend Portsmouth uni's clearing process, they were so understanding of my situation, they didn’t just give me the place they supplied me with tons of information about the uni before I then decided to accept the place. 3 years later, it was the best decision I made.
